This is an amazing piece of history! I love the detail of this portrait of Abraham Lincoln in a macerated currency medium. Macerated currency was a practice by the federal government to remove old bills (money) from circulation by soaking the currency in water until it broke down to a pulp. This was a practice from 1874-1942. This eventually became a medium for artist that created different types of American art. This would be absolutely amazing framed in a shadowbox!
