NGC shows only one finer in MS65 which by chance the dealer that owns it is asking close to $6,000 for. Ours is a much better buy at 1/3 of that price. RARE 1903 / 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition (3), California Gold / Rarity 8
Extremely rare spoon, with only one or two existing gold coins set into the end of the handle. They are a 1903 Louisiana Purchase Exposition, Jefferson Portrait commemorative gold dollar, a 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition half-gold token, and another Louisiana Purchase Exposition quarter-gold token. 127 mm x 26.5 mm. 13.29 grams. Marked STERLING on the back of the handle, just above the bowl. The bowl of the spoon is gold/gilt. An example of this exact spoon type, but with a McKinley gold dollar, realized $4,080 in Heritage's February 2025 Certified American Tokens & Medals US Coins Showcase Auction, lot 54090; a variant Festival Hall and Cascade Gardens spoon with a Jefferson gold dollar set in the bowl brought $3,840 in the Stack's June 2024 Auction, lot 2174.

Alaska Silver Die Trial / Tobin Creek / Calif Gold Rush / MS67 ICG / POP 25 LR.6
ND Tobin Creek silver die trial specimen for the 1 DWT Gold version. ICG-certified and graded MS67. Privately struck in Fairbanks, Alaska, by Dick Hanscom. Dick strikes a limited number as die-trial pieces in silver before he mints the gold version. Dick hand strikes the silver die trial pieces using a vintage screw press before striking the raw gold he obtains from each mining district. Dick curtailed releasing these die trial pieces to near zero to the public years ago. We were fortunate to buy most of the limited inventory of these from Dick about 15-20 years ago. We worked with ICG to get them to certify these. ICG agreed that they were worthy of slabbing and grading. We submitted a batch to ICG for certification and received them back recently. We have a limited number of one piece of this variety at this time.

"1852" The Happy Miner Souvenir Spoon Made with a copy of an Octagonal United States Assay Office of Gold $50 in the Bowl. Sterling Silver. 120 mm. 21.55 grams, .925 fine, 0.641 troy ounces ASW. A small souvenir serving spoon with the Happy Miner motif at the top of the stem. The back of the spoon has an incuse STERLING stamp, above which are the initials BU in cursive letters. The 45 mm bowl bears an exacting reproduction of a United States Assay Office of Gold $50 slug; these replica shells were made from the Albrecht Kuner dies for the coin and bear his signature KUNER F under the eagle. The octagonal representation of the coin and back of the bowl are lightly gold/gilt. These spoons rarely come up for sale and are extremely sought after. Nearly as made.

Another NEW VARIETY just discovered by Oldwestgold! We're awaiting the confirmation from the author of MEHARTGOLD.COM but it clearly appears to be a new variety find. This will make four new variety finds of the Hart's Coins of the Golden West series by Oldwestgold. It is certified and graded by NGC as MS65. The obverse is CMRQ-6 yet it has the reverse die variety of CMRQ-2 & 3 which are 1848 & 1849 respectively. This is the only specimen known to-date of this variety.
