Santa Claus Chef Cream of Wheat magazine advertisement 1920
Santa Claus and Chef enjoy a hot breakfast of cream of wheat. This advertisement dates to the 1920s and was on the inside cover of the magazine Needlecraft in December 1920. This was purchased in a frame. When deconstructed it was found the paper had been taped to foam core backing with blue painters tape. One corner of the tape has been removed. However, due to concern for damage no further attempts were made to remove the remaining tape. Some wrinkles in the paper that can be seen in images. These do not affect the overall appearance. Will be shipped with mat to protect the image, unless buyer requests it be sent in a tube mailer. 14x9” not including mat.

The work of artists such as James Lesley Wallace greatly increased the magazines appeal. The advertisements and cover art, such as this Cream of Wheat ad (as they are politically incorrect by today's standards),are now collectibe. This particular ad from October 1922, shows a African American man and a newspaper boy with written caption, "Sho' Dat's De Papah Ah Wants" It has been framed in wooden/glass frame. Very good vintage condition! Great conversational and collector's piece!(14.5×11.5×.5 in).
