Alling's Patent Wedge Ink Bottle. Patent Applied For April 25, 1871 – Aqua Glass Portable Inkwell. Date: Circa 1871–1875. The body is heavily whittled with a beautiful organic surface texture. The patented design allowed ink to collect naturally toward the neck, making it easier to load a pen while minimizing spills and wasted ink.
