The body is constructed of brain-tanned or smoke-tanned hide with a looped leather bail/strap for hanging or wearing. The reverse face is backed withred wool trade cloth (stroud cloth) — a hallmark of authentic period construction — and edged with a border of white glass seed beads and a red wool trim.

Plains Native American doctor's fully beaded bag with standing chiefs in a gold square wearing long headdresses and meeting hands. The ends have geometric shapes, the bottom with a colorful stepped diamond and two stylized geometric patterns. Medium blue beaded background. The bag is 9" h x 15" w x 8" d. Bead colors include: green, gold, red, blue, cobalt, white, and black.The bead work is all intact. One side of the top metal rim is detached from the beaded edge. Incredible piece believed to be from around 1900, possibly up to about 1910.

this is an incredible and large Apache bag, this measures 14 long without strap x8" wide, i use my phone and photos are a little off the green and blue are somewhat hard to see ,The back side looks black but are cobalt blue and green much better in person..some of the Green looks Black, the largest bag of this type i have owned and very decorative and impressive. Was going to put 1920-40 on it but they give you the category to put it in.
