A cool looking display piece for anybody interested in history. Would be a Great Wall hanger. Plug bayonets are the first iteration of bayonets that originated around 1600. They would work by inserting the handle into the muzzle of your musket or rifle. Militaries starting adopting them by around the mid to late 1670s and ramped up adoption around 1685. Plug bayonets would become obsolete by the early 1700s after the invention of the socket bayonet which allowed the attachment of a blade to the end of the musket without impeding its ability to fire. Blade measures 18 1/2 inches Plug bayonet measures 25 inches overall

It only goes about 60% in the scabbard as there is a dent inside of it, may be fixable. One of the scabbard rings is also bent. The handle on the sword shows cracks. There is no noticeable wobble in the pommel. It includes many cool etchings as well. Please ask for more pictures as I would be happy to send them!
