Top text reads: 征露記念 "Commemoration of the Campaign Against Russia" Middle text reads: 工兵 "Engineer regiment" Bottom text reads: 第十六大隊 "16th Battalion" This cup belonged to a member of the 16th Engineer regiment of the 16th division of the Imperial Japanese Army who was sent to fight Russia on July 18th 1905. Because a treaty was signed to end the war shortly after this unit did not see combat in the war.
