These 9/16" or 15mm Gold Plated Brass Navy Cap Buttons have Bakelite screws and backing. They are circa after 1941 WWII Navy cap buttons, used to secure a gold or black chinstrap to cap. The screw back and backing were made of Bakelite or a similar plastic like Catalin to save use of Brass and other metals. During WWII military components shifted from all metal to plastic to conserve Brass for the war effort. The fronts are Gold Plated Brass. Eagle looking over it's right or viewers left, indicates they are from 1941 on. I have 32 in perfect condition and I am selling them in sets of 16 at a time. I will thrown in the ones that do not have complete b screw backs.
