Three quarter leather with paper covered boards; heavy wear to boards with front board severely warped from water damage; top 5" of crown torn and nearly detached; spine edges chipped; Elephant Folio, over 16" tall; hinges and joints brittle but intact; pencil marks at top of title page; endpapers wrinkled and stained, stuck to boards with page and text loss at rear of book; (last 8 pages of December 25, 1875 issue) interior pages wavy and foxed; tide marks present at gutters and edges; musty smell very present; some mold spots on covers; approximately 1060 pages. Condition is overall good to very good, a few beginning pages detached and chipping thus, paper supple, still bound, lacks original covers but 2 from other volumes are supplied to help protect the item.
