RARE TASMANIAN BRUCITE!!! Gorgeous Miniature, One Time Find Closed Location
This is a VERY rare new find Brucite (yes, BRUCITE!!) miniature from the 1925 Level of the Avebury Nickel Mine in Zeehan, Tasmania, Australia. It features what is potentially the largest intact single crystal of the entire find. These specimens were found in November of 2023, and brought directly from the mine to my friend that I purchased this from. Since pulling this material was not the objective of the mining project, the pocket was quickly shock-creted and fenced off by the mining company. Thus, an incredibly limited amount of this material exists on the market.
