Extremely Rare ! Oldest Silurian fossil Scorpion or Eurypterid 0,6 cm long !

All are monospecific, except Palaeopisthacanthus (two species), and possibly Archaeoctonus (see above, two or three species). Kjellesvig-Waering (1954) described a second species of Palaeophonus from the late Silurian of England, although the material on which it is based consists of an isolated pedipalp chela and its generic identity is far from certain.
