Not a Zippo, but made in Jersey City NJ by Berkeley Industries. Still opens and closes as it should and has a strong snap. No flint as the screw / spring that holds the flint in is missing. The USS Snyder DE-745 was a Cannon-class destroyer escort (DE) commissioned on May 5, 1944.

1930’s Mecanic Le Resche Semi-automatic Lighter - Made In France

This a fabulous and rare French lighter known as the “Mecanic Leresche”. It is in working condition and was produced in the 1930’s. This one has the wear to show its 95 year life. It has an interesting semi-automatic mechanism where a push down on top round release button, releases snuffer arm with a light. There is a round piece beneath this button which when turned clockwise prevents accidental lighting .
