Professionally restored Kriswill #1281 tobacco smoking pipe
This Kriswill #1281 was a diamond in the rough. It's been completely cleaned inside and out. The outside of the stummel was in good shape after I cleaned it. The stem was oxidized so I let it soak in Lbepen solution, then sanded it thru the grits. Then coated the whole pipe with carnuba wax. I'm donating 10% of this pipe sale to the American National Red Cross!

Wife purchased this Xl02 a month ago and did a very good job as it has perfect ring grain and this stem is wonderfully swirled! Unfortunately the XL02 is too large a pipe for my tastes, it literally fills the palm, huge chamber. Smoked twice with Escudo. No cake, teeth marks or dings etc. Paid $160 with tax included. These are now $157 on Smokingpipes. Box, sock and silver polish with instruction booklet included.

This small square pipe has Brads stamped on the bottom tobacco smoking pipe
The funny little square pipe just has Brad's stamped on the bottom. That's it! It really came to life after sanding and dying and waxing! The only trouble I had was the tenon. It was so loose it would fall out on it's own! Some genius tried to fix the problem by putting glue around the tenon. After I chipped almost all the glue off I heated it up and that helped. But STILL LOOSE! So then I used more heat and those tenon enlarging metal slugs, and that did the trick. It might become loose again after smoking and the heat it provides. If you purchase the pipe you can always send it back to be re-fit, or I will give you your money back! I'm donating 10% of this pipe sale to the American National Red Cross!

The stem was very tight and I accidentally broke it off trying to remove it for close up photos. So part of it is still in the shank. The Pipe looks very lightly used to me. Google says it's POSSIBLY from John's Pipe Shop of noted fame in Los Angeles Ca. but others I've seen online have the the entire name on them- not just JOHN'S so you decide please. But, just as I was buffing out the oxidation of the dye surface getting it ready to wax, I saw a few spider web looking, very fine lines,directly on the outside bottom of the bowl. My heart sank because it was looking so good.
