Antique W Marples And Sons Wood Chisel And Gouge Set 14 Pc Custom Box

Late 19th century rosewood handled 14 piece set of wood carving chisels and gouges made by W Marples & Sons. The markings on the blade contain the Marples name, the cast steel mark and the shamrock. The rosewood handles with brass ferrules were also indicative of late 1800’s production. The tools are from an estate and are held in a custom built hardwood box and they are clean and sharp. Vintage Corner Wood Chisel?

I took a good many pictures of this chisel trying to give you a good look at the condition that its in. Feel like I kind of failed though. Overall length with the handle is 16 and 3/8 in Long. Without the handle it measures roughly 11 and 7/8 of an inch long. The width of the gouge from side to side measures 1 and 1/8 in wide on both sides. I tried to get a good picture of the gouge because it's not the best condition. I believe it could be restored to be made to look very nice. One side is pitted pretty badly and the end of the bevels need to be reworked as well. If you have any questions feel free to ask, but please do so before placing any bids on this auction.

The plane is in good condition. The Sweetheart logo is well stamped. The throat is not cracked. The rosewood sole has several scratches along it. It retains much of its original japanning. In pic.18 you can see several dents along the upper edge.

Narex Richter Cryo-Treated Bevel Edged Chisels, Set of 5

Lightly used Narex Richter five (5) chisel set. Sizes 1/4”, 3/8”, 1/2”, 3/4”, and 1”. These are great chisels and the only reason I’m selling is I have other chisels of similar sizes and need some room on my tool wall! Backs have been lapped and the primary bevel has been re-established at about 30 degrees (a good angle for both paring and chopping). Each have a small micro bevel of about +2 degrees. All chisels have a light coat of jojoba oil for protection. Chisels will be shipped individually wrapped in anti-rust Armor Wrap and edge protection.

Vintage Stanley Sweetheart No 50 Everlasting 1-inch Butt/Pocket Chisel-1911-'42!

The Stanley logo is prominently embossed on the blade and on the shaft with the sweetheart SW just touching the Stanley logo on the shaft. Patent dates barely legible on the shank are 7-28-08 & 8-24-09 indicating this Everlasting chisel is a Type 4?.
