The square is marked "HENRY DISSTON & SONS PHILAD'A, USA No 1" on one side of the blade. I don't see any owner markings on the square. The inside of the box bottom is marked "34 FEB 1949", and I would guess that the 34 refers to inspector 34.

The square itself is in great condition. You can read the lines and the numbers very well. The bubble works. I don't see any issues with the square. The box is not in the best in shape but still all there.

try square w/ 11-3/4" blade & showy handle & brass escutcheons marked Walker

The unusually shaped escutcheons on each side and the facing on the handle are brass. The 4 rivets inside each escutcheon are steel. Condition is fair to good to very good, depending on where you are looking.

Two similar square heads or depth gauges. Each is marked "PRESTON" and "Rd 393102". One head has a thumbscrew to secure it, and the other has a knurled screw to secure it. The head with the thumbscrew doesn't appear to be nickeled, while the head with the knurled screw was nickeled.

The rule has 1/32" and 1/16" scales on one side, 1/8" and 1/16" on the other.

H Disston & Sons tiny sliding T Bevel square Decorative brass trim early type

This early T bevel is unmarked but the decorative brass thumb screw gives it away being the Disston "sunburst" pattern. Sadly the owners initials gave no respect to the fantastic rosewood but at least they put it on the back.

C. G. Siewers Cincinnati 10 inch Miter Square mitre square rosewood and brass

It is is straight, flat, and secure to the rosewood body. It is stamped C. G. Siewers Cincinnati WARRENTED. I found working dates for this maker from 1839 to 1866. The page at square info site Chaptico gives this info;.

The walnut infill identifies it as the Type 1 of this square, and the rounded bottom of the handle identifies it as being the earliest variation of the Type 1. The wood infill has a variety of dings and scratches.
