This patch was never sewn onto anything but was glued to paper. There is still some paper stuck to the back. Please see the pictures. This is from the collection of Denny, the CWRailman, my father, who was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in 2019.

1890s Metropolitan Street Railway 1” Brass Uniform Button Waterbury Loop Shank
This Antique ( over 125 years old) large (1”) Uniform button for the Metropolitan Railway Co. is in very nice condition with age appropriate wear and darkening patina to the brass. It is 2 piece construction with an applied loop shank. It is back marked “WATERBURY SCOVILL MF’G CO.” Front of the button reads “Ry.Co.” At center surrounded by “METROPOLITAN STREET”, this style is a very rare find for this particular railway.
