Age shows in the material. Original one-sheets from the old Hollywood era were folded for shipping, printed on thinner stock, and usually carry a National Screen Service number in a corner. Reproductions tend to arrive rolled, brighter, and on modern gloss paper. Ask the seller for photographs of the back and the edges — a seller holding an original will have them.
Are celebrity autographs bought second hand worth it?▾
Only with paperwork you can check yourself. A certificate from an issuer nobody has heard of means very little, while letters from PSA/DNA, JSA or Beckett carry a serial number you can look up in their own database. If the listing shows no number you can verify, treat the signature as decorative and pay a decorative price.
