Is a project car/does not drive. This is my 1929 DeSoto Model K Sedan that was left to me after my grandfather passed. We have kept most the papers and transactions since the original buyer bought it in 1930. I've been told it has sat in a garage most of its life and last ran in 2007. The odometer reads 64,776. A desirable find for collectors and enthusiasts of DeSoto vehicles. It could be a good little project for someone that has money to put into it or could be chopped and turned into a rat rod depending on preference. I'm asking 7k and I'm open to trade offers for a good reliable daily driver. Initially named for Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto, the Desoto marque was positioned in the middle of Chrysler's brand hierarchy, sitting above the entry-level Plymouth brand but below the premium Chrysler (and later Imperial) brands. See, Walter Chrysler learned from his time at General Motors that diversification and hierarchical approach to branding helped the company sell cars to virtually everyone in America. While the Chrysler Corporation survived the Great Depression, production across American automobile manufacturing was ceased due to the onset of World War II.
