In 1984 the Fiero became the first mid-engine car to pace the Indianapolis 500 and the first 4-cylinder car to do so since a Stoddard-Dayton paced the 1914 race. To honor of this achievement, Pontiac produced 2,000 pace car replicas. All of these Indy Fieros had aero body cladding and new front and rear fascias that would be used on the '85 GT. They were all white with a grey lower body section accented with red pinstripes, they all had 4-cylinder engines, and they all shared Grey and Red interiors. Despite the similarities, these Indy cars could be ordered with a whole host of factory options - meaning that some were loaded and some were base-model type cars.

The paint is still in high-driver quality condition with a bright shine and only minimal small imperfections from having been driven. Accenting the red is a base of silver that rings the bottom of the car and black body side molding with integrated side marker lights and door handles.

This 1986 Pontiac Fiero and is a replica of the 1973 Dino Ferrari 246 GTS Tribute, and it is extremely rare. This vehicle is a one-off professional hand-built custom on a 1986 17k mile Pontiac Fiero GT chassis. Like the original Dino, the engine is a transverse mounted V-6 high performance 2.8L 173 ci Powerplant (from the Fiero) and a 5-speed manual transmission. It has rack and pinion steering, independent rear suspension, wider tires and modern technology make this a superior handling sports car. Odometer reads 19267. It has factory AC (does not work), power brakes, windows, cruise control and tilt wheel, all of which contribute to a more comfortable car to drive than the original.
