Ho Scale Steam Locomotive: ATSF 2-10-4 Dcc Sound

Up for grabs is a QSI ATSF 2-10-4. I bought it as a project that inevitably never got finished ( bought it to use a newer decoder and add more lighting) but I need to make room for a few finished projects and downsize. It was taken apart and cleaned, all hardware lubricated. No internal hardware damage is present. Runs fine but decoder functionality may not be optimal for newer updated systems. Great for DC layouts or if you want to update it!

THE WHEELS APPEAR TO BE NICKEL SILVER. THE VIDEO SHOWS TYPICALLY SLOW OPERATION OVER MULTIPLE SWITCHES. DUE TOI THE GEARING IN THE TRUCKS, THE TOP SPEED IS STILL TOO HIGH BUT, I WAS ABLE TO TEMPER THAT BY REDUCING THE DECODER TOP SPEED.

I haven’t ran this model other than to test it since I bought it. It has been in a display case for a few months now. It has a DC decoder with light pipes. I am selling it because I was going to make it a project to change it to DCC with LED and sounds but don’t have the time. The paint finish is perfect with great detailed parts. I have no complaints. There is a tiny part on the right railing next to the cab where the paint ripped off. Easily can be repainted though. You can see it in the 4th picture where it’s facing towards the right. Here is a really nice postwar KW thats been cleaned , serviced , upgraded and test operated. It has 2 new copper alloy rollers, a new repro "L" power cord , and a new , modern , fast trip circuit breaker ( all shown in photos) . The whistle and direction control contacts have been cleaned and function correctly . Both variable and fixed output voltages are equivalent to factory settings at all output terminals ( see photos) . No cracks or chips in the case , graphics are very nice and the base has been stripped and repainted . Includes a 4 page copy of the installation & operating instructions .
