So here goes. They were not made to be amputation saws. They were adapted to do so. As was Otto's saw. This is what Otto did, he brought his with him. This saw in particular is very-very close to Otto's saw.

This is 19th century prosthetic eye from Lauscha Germany. The iris color is blue. The full globe prosthetic was used in the 1800's to fill the entire eye socket after the enucleation of an eye.
