A compact concertina photo album presenting studio portraits and court scenes of the late Qing imperial household, including the Empress Dowager and young emperor, printed in rich black-and-white on folded boards and cased in patterned brocade covers with a paper title slip. Likely produced in the early 1900s as a souvenir album, with printed captions and a pleasing, desk-friendly scale. Exceptional complete post Medieval bronze heraldic shield, This is a rather early Sir Humphrey de Bohun due to the tall shape of the shield. The shields were longer before the wearing of plate armor over the legs. Before about 1300, the chainmail coat ŵas not long enough to protect the legs, so the shield were longer. There were 7 or 8 Humphrey de Bohuns, ~ aways azure (bluue), and some had the bend gules (red) with silver or gold in the center between a “cotised” bend was always between 6 lions rrampant argent. In uncleaned as found condition at Sheriff Hutton near York adjacent to Castle grounds in private residential garden. L314
