As a 40 year collector of pre-1900 NY State stoneware, I have to say this is the first and only one of these I have ever seen or heard of. A really interesting piece that displays like a crock. This was a "fireproof" sleeve placed in the ceiling to allow the 6" stove pipe from the wood fired kitchen stove to safely exit the building.
