Teils papierbedingt fleckig getönt, nur wenig in der Abbildung störend, siehe Fotos, kleine nicht störende Schäden an der Blattkante, siehe Fotos. Gezeigt wird der badische Historiker und liberale Politiker Karl von Rotteck. Sein Porträt steht stellvertretend für das aufstrebende Bildungsbürgertum Süddeutschlands. Als Verfasser einer populären Weltgeschichte und Verfechter konstitutioneller Freiheiten war er eine prägende Gestalt des politischen Vormärz.

Reasonable condition. Lacking the upper margin. The lower and right margin are very slightyly ragged and there is a small tear in the right margin, not affecting the image. Paper slightly soiled with some minor faint staining, mainly along edges. Verso: blank. Dimensions: 262 x 157 mm. Antoine Perrenot de Granvelle was Politician, Statesman, Aristocrat, Art collector, Cardinal, Burgundian statesman, Archbishop, Count, Archbishop of Mechelen, and Count of La Baume Saint Amour.
