Portrait of Alexander, Prince of Orange. Born 25 August 1851 in The Hague, The Netherlands. Died 21 June 1884 in The Hague, The Netherlands. Wood engraving by Auguste Tilly (1840-1898), after De Lavieter & Cie, photographers (fl. 1865-1903), c. 1890. Reasonable condition. Paper slightly browned and soiled, with some minor, faint staining, including affecting the image. Short upper margin. Verso: Dutch text. Dimensions: 205 x 165 mm. Alexander, Prince of Orange was Prince of Orange-Nassau, Freemason, Prince, Prince of the Netherlands, Heir apparent to the Dutch throne, and Grand Master of the Grand Orient of the Netherlands.
