Vintage Armes De St Etienne Gras Bayonet 1879 N 80920
1879 French ‘Gras’ Bayonet manufactured at the St Etienne Arsenal. It was apparently ‘refurbished’ in 1890 removing the engraving along the top of the blade, but keeping the ‘M’ stamp on the Ricasso that usually signifies a second class inspector, Maignet, which is consistent with the time period and location. Haven’t been able to find any more of its history after that. Good condition for its age. I have attempted to include any cosmetic defects I could find in the photos. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions.
