This was an estate find, attached in the photos is the information I could find on the item. There is also a small chip on the tip of the the blade, not very noticeable unless you feel for it. There were only 1,130 of these made.

Grip has some broken pieces missing. The grip, hilt and blade are all loose. Scabbard is split down the seam toward the tip and broken nearly in half closer to the throat. Sold as is. Elaborate brass two grooved cross guard and shaped ferrule. I have tried for years to identify the maker of this large knife, which I am almost certain is Sheffield made, without success. Condition is excellent for age.

Has the sprueplat stop screw broken off and filed flat, can just see the outline, so would need drilled/retapped. Looks to have had the alignment pin drilled out??? Cavities look pretty good, heavy patina all over, and looks to have been steel wooled on outside. Overall, has a few issues as noted, but it's still here.

Unmarked on the blade and marked on the socket with the classic "C&Co." and an "M" inspectors mark. scabbard appears original, leather with a brass tip and 2 rivet leather holder. the leather scabbard id complete with no thru cracks, a little dry but overall nice shape.
