1860 Staff and Field Officer's Sword with Scabbard, Indian Wars Period?
Here is a fair condition 1860 staff & field officer sword. I’m not too well versed in these but I have two for sale. I was told when I acquired these that they were post civil war and more than likely from the 1870s but I have no way to know that for sure. I do know for sure they are both authentic though and not reproductions. This one specifically retains a very faint makers mark, although I can’t quite make it out. Everything is very good and tight on this sword and it retains much of the original gilt on the hilt. I’m selling this as I bought it several years ago but really took up more of an interest in older cavalry sabers and want to clear up space. Please feel free to ask any questions. While I have 2 listed for sale, this listing is only for the one pictured.

1860 Staff Field Officer Sword With Scabbard, civil war, Indian Wars?
Here is a fair condition 1860 staff & field officer sword. I’m not too well versed in these but I have two for sale. I was told when I acquired these that they were post civil war and more than likely from the 1870s but I have no way to know that for sure. I do know for sure they are both authentic though and not reproductions. The one listed here has some patina on the blade and the makers mark is faded away. The hand guard has a slight bend as pictured and the gold gilt has quite a bit of wear. There is the tiniest bit of looseness in the blade as well, but just slightly. Would make a good display piece at a good price to start collecting US military swords of the period. I have one listed in a bit better condition if you’d like to check that out. Feel free to ask any questions.
