1874 Early Indian Wars original Cartridge Ammo Crate Springfield Rifle 45 Custer
1874, the year of the 7th Cavalry & 17th & 20th Infantry's Black Hills Expedition. Has all square nail construction. Has two red seals from the arsenal in the bottom. These early Indian Wars ammo crates in any condition are very rare, mainly because most all the boxes were busted up and used for firewood on the prairie.
Scarce Original Indian Wars/Span Am War Trapdoor/Krag Rifle Sling Button Stud
There are two distinct variants: a shorter and a taller stud. Both are correct for either model of sling, but I suspect the taller ones were originally issued with the earlier two piece M1873 slings to account for different thicknesses of leather.

Blade has lots wear. Included is a plains style tacked leather scabbard. The leather sheath is in nice condition, and obviously not as old as the knife (more recently made) but the antique brass tacks are the old antique square shanked type from the 1800s.
