This is a rare M1874/8 original duck canvas haversack from The Spanish American War. This haversack is clearly marked ** The 2nd West Va. “K”Company Volunteer Infantry. * not to be confused with the same confederate outfit that was disbanded after the civil war. K Company was mustered into service July 5th 1898. Nice strong haversack with honest wear. Being an original piece, it adds value to any collection related to this conflict period.

The body was constructed of cork and covered with a tan wool felt covering. It retains its original shape perfectly. The Latin phrase "Qui Sustinet Transtulit" also appears which translates to "He Who Transplanted Still Sustains".

ORIGINAL SPANISH 1893 MAUSER BAYONET SCABBARD

Just picked this up. Very hard to find on the loose. From my research this is a Model of 1893 Spanish Mauser Bayonet. It measures just over 11 inches long. The opening in the throat for the blade is 1 1/16 inches wide. Only markings are a faint and worn serial number stamped neat the throat. Stitching and leather in good condition. See pictures.
