Beautiful, postwar signed b&w 4x6 photo of Cpt Erich Topp. From "U-Boat.net"..... Erich Topp began his naval career in April 1934. He served six months on the light cruiser Karlsruhe before joining the U-boat force in October 1937. A year later he became watch officer on U-46. After four patrols with U-46, Topp took over command of U-57. With this boat he sank six ships for a total of 36,862 tons. U-57 sank on 3 September, 1940 after an accident with the Norwegian ship Rona. Topp was then given command of the VIIC boat U-552, the famous "Red Devil Boat". Topp scored most of his successes in the North Atlantic against convoys and off the North American coast. On his very successful eighth patrol in March/April 1942, he sank eight ships for a total of 45,731 tons.

Nice, signed 6.5 X 5 photo of Bruno Kahl receiving the Oakleaves award. He took part in the Occupation of Czechoslovakia with this unit. In January 1943, Kahl was promoted to the rank of Major. He died in 1999.

Lot of 2 bags. These are interesting because they have actually blocked out the "Oha Eier" wording on the bags and added "Hart Grieß" (semolina). OK condition. All bags have storage wear and brown spots, maybe a crease or small tear from years of handling.

After serving aboard the cruisers Admiral Graf Spee and Karlsruhe he transferred to the U-boat arm in May 1937, and was appointed watch officer of U-20. In August 1939 Oesten commissioned U-61, sailing on nine patrols, and sinking five ships. Taking command of U-106 in September 1940, he sailed on three patrols sinking another ten ships. In October 1941 Oesten became the first commander of the 9. Unterseebootsflottille based in Brest, France. In March 1942 he joined the staff of FdU Nordmeer directing the U-boat war in the Norwegian Sea.

Nice, signed color 4x6 photo of Bruno Kahl. From Wikipedia...Born in Cologne on 23 November 1914, Bruno Kahl commenced his military career in July 1933 after the usual service with the Reichsarbeitsdienst. Kahl became an Officer Candidate with a motorised unit in Münster. In April 1935, he was commissioned as a Leutnant and posted to an anti-tank Unit in Hanover as a Platoon Commander. In 1936, Leutnant Kahl joined Panzerjäger Abteilung 9, where he became Unit Adjutant. He was promoted to Oberleutnant in the summer of 1938 and shortly afterwards assigned to Gebirgs-Panzer-Abwehr-Artillerie 48. He took part in the Occupation of Czechoslovakia with this unit. On the outbreak of war in September 1939, Oberleutnant Kahl was serving with the same unit on the southern sector of the front during the Polish Campaign.
