World War II British Experimental Helmet MK III
This is a rare World War II British Experimental Helmet MK III. The Mk III Helmet is a steel military combat helmet that was first developed for the British Army in 1941 by the Medical Research Council. They were issued to troops in April 1944 and then worn in combat for the first time by Britishand Canadian troops on D-Day. Mk III helmets were used alongside the Mkll helmet for the remainder of the Second World War, with the former’s successor, the Mk IV, serving with the Army well into the late 1980s. It is sometimes referred to as the “turtle” helmet by collectors, because of its vague resemblance to a turtleshell, as well as the 1944 pattern helmet.

These oil bottles are in good condition and are complete with their original spoon and leather washer. Markings are luck of the draw. They may show minor scratches and general wear. Most have an oily residue on the surface which cleans up easily with a little soap and water.

WW1 Trench Art British Royal Engineers Officers Cap 38 Caliber Shell Case 1916
I cannot say much about the history of this as I purchased at an estate sale. It does appear to be a British officer's Royal Engineers hat from WWI. I do believe this is trench art and constructed from a 38 Caliber shell. The shell has a date of 1916 and St. 38. Also marked DEZB and some other letters difficult to distinguish as they run together - like AWD. This appears to have been used as an ashtray. I have not cleaned it ans only lightly wiped out the interior of the hat. The shell backing measures 3 1/2" in diameter.
