The fair buildings were multi-colored, to create a "Rainbow City" as compared to the "White City" of Chicago's earlier 1893 World's Columbian Exposition. The architectural commission and fair designers included Paul Cret, Raymond Hood, Edward Bennett, John Holabird, Hubert Burnham, Edgar Miller, and Andrew Rebori.

Antique Victorian gold filled & mother of pearl 1893 CHICAGO WORLD'S FAIR Stanhope binocular watch fob or bracelet charm. In excellent antique condition. When viewed in front of a light it displays a tiny microphotograph of the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago. I believe the building that is showing is one of the great exhibit halls with the words Universal Exhibition (third word I can't make out) followed by the word Chicago. Measures 7/8''. It was very hard to get pictures of the microphotographs but hopefully you can get an idea of the building. Thanks for looking.
