They literally lost their power through their actions of WWI. Australia was a part of that command but not a maker of the decisions. As a matter of fact currently, Australia is a 1st World Power while Great Britain nearly has turned into a 3rd World Country that can’t stand up against Venezuela over the Falkland Islands.

WWI Australian Lithgow P1907 Bayonet with Matching Mangrovite Scabbard

A very hard to find WWI Australian Lithgow P1907 bayonet with a 1944 Mangrovite Scabbard. Designed for the Enfield No1 Mk1, this would make a wonderful addition to your collection. The 16 6/8" blade shows heavy signs of oxidation of which I made no attempt to clean.

WW1 Australian Red Cross Celluloid Button Burra, South Australia 1917

The slogan “For King & Empire” reflects Australia’s status as part of the British Empire, and its loyalty to Britain during World War I. Phrases like “Cheer Up,” “One Aim,” and “One Heart” were common morale-boosting slogans during the difficult years of trench warfare, as Australia had been involved in the war for over three years by that point.
