It is stamped ZB46 on the underside of the rim. It has the original liner with the netting. It has the manufacturer markings on the underside of the liner: L.C.C&Co. 1917, see photo. It still has the original leather chin strap.

Original World War One US Army Air Service Crash Helmet, Hard Shell Flight Helmet, this is an early version introducing attached Radio Ear Cups and a Throat Microphone. On the back of the helmet it has the manufacturer stamp of “Spaulding” Sporting Goods Company. The padded crown is marked “Timmons Airplane Telephone, General Ordnance Company “. There are no radio receivers or wiring present, the chinstrap does contain the original throat microphone. Good condition.
