WWI U.S. Army Lt. Colonel & Wife Portraits in Hinged Presentation Frame

The shoulder insignia appears to identify the 85th Division ("Custer Division"), and the armband suggests service on the division staff. Both portraits are signed “Alfred Jonniaux copy.”. Alfred Jonniaux was a Belgian portrait artist who later worked in London; his papers are preserved by the Smithsonian Institution.

World War I Scrapbook 1914-1918 with Photos, Letters, Maps, Postcards, Clippings

This is truly a one of a kind scrapbook. Really gives you the chance to dive into the life of WWI veteran. He snatched postcards in every city he fought in. You can see the progression and destruction thru the years. Also includes newspaper clippings, friend/girlfriend logs with addresses, and a 21 page written history by Frank Thornton himself… in what appears to be an attempt to not lose certain aspects of french history as he watched it be destroyed. Condition is rough considering the binding is a shoelace. However, it all holds together in one piece and the stories it tells are extremely unique.
