It is dated ‘1870’on the lower arm. Awarded during the 1870 – 1871 Franco Prussian War for gallantry in combat action. The front of the maltese cross shows King’s crown on the upper arm with a ‘W’ in the center.

This is the classic spread‑winged eagle worn on the front of the tarbusch by personnel serving in German colonial and overseas formations. A well‑preserved example of Imperial German colonial insignia.

Fresh estate find. First Class Iron Cross medal with second class ribbon bar and Hindenburg Cross. This Iron Cross is a three piece construction with a magnetic iron core. The cross is convex shaped. The cross shows lots of oxidation on the iron core. It is hard to make out the crown. I think a previous owner cleaned it. The cross is 15 grams and measures 43mm. There are no markings. Perhaps a private purchase piece. The screw on clasp looks like a field replacement or repair. Please see all photos and ask questions before purchasing. Item will be shipped fully insured.
