WWI Wilkinson Pattern 1907 Rifle Bayonet with Scabbard. Wilkinson markings on the ricasso along with a 1918 date, cannot make out the month, looks like 6 or 9. Excellent working press-stud, very good scabbard with markings, "HGR.17" along with a forward arrow.

WW1 English Pattern 1907 Bayonet measuring 21.75" overall with a blade length of 17". Excellent condition, chromed for ceremonial duties, along with the scabbard locket and chape. Scabbard leather shows markings, as does the ricasso area blade, with SANDERSON markings and a October 1915 date on the front with a 1925 date on the opposite side. Pommel right side shows letters and numbers that look like, "RB/L41/COY". Excellent working press-stud, see photos. A beauty.

Condition: Wear on leather scabbard. Split seam on scabbard approx 4" (close up provided - 13th pic). No pitting noted on blade. The Long Common Socket Bayonet, or "Lunger", was designed for use with the Martini Henry rifle in 1876, and used during the Anglo-Zulu War up through WWI.

Press-stud in excellent working press-stud. Ricasso is stamped with Sanderson Maker with a April 1917 date. along with other cartouches, cyphers, etc. The scabbard shows scattered surface loss/wear, the locket wiggles a bit, both the locket and chape are stamped with "RE". W", the spine has "Made in England", "14430", by the sword knot hole is "K.H.H." and "Allen". The sharkskin grip is 97% complete. The twisted wires are mostly complete. The etched blade is straight, unsharpened, no nicks, the tip is a little sharp, and it is mostly clean with a few age spots.
