Antique WW1 Scottish Cameron 72nd Highlanders Doublet
Edwardian-era Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Volunteer Officers Doublet jacket. It features a scarlet red wool body with cream-colored collar and cuffs. The jacket is designed with silver-colored ribbon trim on the collar and cuffs. It includes a maker's label for "Moore Taggart & Co, Glasgow". It has a square-shaped collar, indicating a post-1880 manufacturing date The 72nd Highlanders was a British Army Highland Infantry Regiment of the Line. Raised in 1778, it was originally numbered 78th, before being redesignated the 72nd in 1786. Under the Childers Reforms it amalgamated with the 78th (Highlanders) Regiment to form the 1st Battalion of the Seaforth Highlanders in 1881. See pictures!
